KNNDesignStudio - Custom designs with a big heart

Better late than never they say. So here I am, pretty late in posting the April giveaway results. There were 146 entries and sweet Kristin from KNNDesignStudio was picked by random.org. The prize for the April giveaway was to be a surprise. She won a gorgeous necklace and earrings set in Blue Zircon Swarovski crystals, as well as a pretty cosmetic bag and a textured photo album.
So let me tell you about Kristin.

"The other day I walked into PetCo to get some new toys for my puppy, little did I know it would change my life. The Mutts N Stuff Small Dog Rescue Shelter was there with some of the puppies. I hung out for a few hours and played with the puppies and talked to the others around me. I fell in love with a German Shepard puppy, He was less then a year old. Poor Jiao was hit by a car and his back legs were mangled and backwards and had to be amputated. Mutts n Stuff paid for the amputations [...] He is a year old sweety who has no idea that he is a little different. He fetches balls, he chews on his toys, he is affectionate and protective and he is extremely handsome. He loves playing with other dogs too.
Eddies Wheels is donating a cart for Jiao so he can go on walks with his family. He is great in the car and has already gone to work with his foster mom where he behaved himself quite well! Jiao is only about 17 pounds. He is a very lovable guy who really cares about you.
So after much tear shed I had to leave, but not without the shelter information. Now in my etsy and on my facebook I am taking donations for Jiao and his friends to all have good homes! 10% of everything I make on Etsy goes to the shelter and any donation is sent straight to them. Don't Breed or Buy While Shelter Dogs Die!"

A different type of poll

We are celebrating 6 months of AFUS (Artfire Favorite Undiscovered Studios) features, and to honor the wonderful selfless supporters I've had the opportunity to see in action, I would like to present to you a different type of poll.
ArtFire has just introduced the Like button for studios. So why not use it as a vote counter? :) Since it's so new, it gives everyone a pretty fair level playing field, so let's use it!
I would like to limit the number of studios to make it easier to vote, but I definitely plan to run a Favorite Supporter Poll regularly, so if you have been quietly supporting undiscovered studios, do let me know so I can send my heartfelt thanks.

Brigitte is a proud Canadian, and the owner of WishUponAWishbone. She creates costumes for a large theatre company, so you can be sure she will never run out of buttons. May Flowers that could last forever
For this month's giveaway I've decided to offer something special: coupon codes to save on new ArtFire PRO subscriptions. You can enter either by clicking like on the giveaway post on my fan page, or commenting "PRO code" below. Up to two entries per person (one for like, one for comment). See end of this post for a cute contest.
What are those PRO codes?
ArtFire has increased the monthly subscription to $15.95, but each PRO member that was locked in at the lower rates, has received 5 coupon codes that can be given out to family and friends so they too can lock in at $12, as long as they use the coupon before June 1st. Well, that's less than a month away, so since I have 3 codes available (2 already have dibs on them), these are the prizes for this month's giveaway. :) That's $47.40 savings a year BTW.
What can you do with 12 dollars ($3/week)? Well, for starters if you have an Etsy shop, you could pay for one month PRO and import all your items so you don't have to relist them on ArtFire. Change the titles around a bit and the first paragraph in your descriptions, and you've got a full shop ready to go in less than a day.
As a PRO, you also get an ArtFire Kiosk which makes it possible to buy straight from your fan page.
RapidCart can be added to any website or blog, so people can buy straight from there as well. $12 is an all inclusive rate covering listing fees, FVF, everything. If you have many listings and sell enough to balance out the $12 a month, ArtFire PRO is definitely something to consider for putting your eggs in more than one basket.
Each PRO code will come with an mv bookmark and magnet. The drawing will be Friday May 7th at 9PM EDT, using random.org.

AFSL for Kevin: First entry
So this cool guy pictured on the right has asked what our favorite ArtFire PRO feature is. He's really cool, so can you blame me for writing a blog post to answer his question? :) Now had he asked about basic features, I'd have said the people. But that's not only for pros. :)It's actually pretty hard to choose only one favorite. It's not like there's one feature I use all the time and then don't use the others. All of them are useful for their purpose. But since I can talk about features next week too, this week I'll be picking the Coupon codes. Right in time for Mother's Day! Find the coupons (up to 50% OFF) and use before anyone else to redeem.
There are four coupon codes hidden in four places in my http://mv.artfire.com shop. It will be very obvious what they are once you see them. The first people to find them can enjoy discounts of up to 50% if they are the first ones to redeem the code.
Choose wisely, you can only use ONE coupon, so if you found the easy $10_off_$50, will you risk having someone else using it while you are looking for the 50% off, or will you decide 20% is good enough? Hard choices. FUN game! :)
Here is what you are looking for:
If you find the Coupon Code containing the numbers -
10 - This code will take $10 off an order total of at least $50 (TWO available, easy to find)
25 - This code will take 25% off your order total, no minimum (TWO available, a little harder to find)
20 - This code will take $20 off an order total of at least $50 (ONE available, hard to find)
50 - This code will take 50% off your order total, no minimum (ONE available, you really have to dig for it)
There are 6 prizes total, 4 easier ones, and 2 harder ones. Each coupon also comes with a FREE GIFT to thank you for your hard work!
How to redeem:No ArtFire nor PayPal accounts necessary to use the coupons, and no need to login anywhere. :)
To use the code:
1) Enjoy shopping at http://mv.artfire.com,
2) Choose your pretties and click ADD TO CART,
3) When ready to checkout choose your Location (United States, Canada, etc.) in the upper right corner of the Shopping Cart, and click Checkout.
The next page will have a Gift Certificate/Coupon Code right above the address. Enter the coupon code you have found and click APPLY COUPON. The Grand Total should have the amount/percentage deducted from it once the coupon has been applied.
Double check the coupon HAS been applied, as someone else may have found it and used it before you, in which case the coupon will not be available anymore.
Click SUBMIT ORDER after confirming the total amount is correct. Amazon, Google, and PayPal payment choices will be given (For Credit Card payments, choose PayPal without logging in to PayPal).

I had some fun taking pictures of something pretty special. My FREE GIFTS box :D Well, there are too many things in there, and the picture would have been messy, so I picked the most colorful ones for a nice looking photo :) So here are two samplers, the first one is the handmade styles (stuff I make), the second one is the commercial styles (i.e. I bought them from a store, so not handmade, always sent with a handmade item though) :)
